Data Deletion — Halo Dispatch Driver App

Last updated: April 17, 2026

How Driver Access Works

The Halo Dispatch Driver mobile app (package com.halodispatch.driver) is used by commercial truck drivers to see their assigned loads, track GPS while delivering, and upload proof of delivery photos.

Drivers do not create accounts in the app. Your trucking company (dispatcher) enrolls you into Halo Dispatch and provides you with a phone number to log in with. The app only asks you for a 4-digit PIN on first launch and an optional biometric unlock (Face ID / fingerprint).

Your name, phone number, pay rate, and assigned loads are managed by your trucking company, not by you or the app. To change or remove that information, contact your employer’s dispatcher first.

What the App Collects From You

The Halo Dispatch Driver app collects the following data directly from your device:

  • PIN hash — a hashed version of the 4-digit PIN you set on first launch (used for app-level authentication)
  • Biometric enrollment flag — a yes/no indicator stored on your device; biometric templates never leave your phone
  • GPS pings — your location during active loads, used for dispatcher tracking and delivery ETA
  • Proof of Delivery (POD) photos — photos you take at delivery using the app’s camera
  • Push notification tokens — Apple APNs or Firebase FCM device tokens used to deliver notifications
  • Device metadata — device model, operating system version, app version, and battery level (sent with GPS pings for diagnostics)
  • Crash and performance diagnostics — stack traces and app-health telemetry

The app does not collect an email address, home address, credit card or bank information, contacts, calendar, messages, microphone, or files from your device.

How to Request Deletion of Your App Data

There are two paths depending on what you want removed.

Path A — Remove everything (recommended if you have left the trucking company)

Contact your dispatcher at your trucking company and ask them to remove your driver profile. When your profile is removed by the dispatcher, all app-collected data listed above is deleted automatically. This is the normal flow when a driver leaves a company.

Path B — Request direct deletion from Halo Dispatch

If you want to submit the request yourself (for example, if your dispatcher is unreachable), follow these steps:

  1. Email us at [email protected] with the subject “Driver App Data Deletion Request”.
  2. Include in the email body:
    • The phone number you use to log in to the Halo Dispatch Driver app
    • The name of the trucking company you currently drive for (or last drove for)
    • Whether you want us to notify your dispatcher of the request (yes/no)
  3. We verify your identity by matching the phone number against our records. If the match is ambiguous, we may ask you for additional information (such as a recent load number or delivery city) — we do not rely on government ID.
  4. We delete the app-collected data within 30 days of a verified request. Most requests are completed within 5 business days. You will receive an email confirmation when the deletion is complete.
  5. Uninstalling the app removes the PIN hash and biometric flag from your device but does not remove server-side data. Email us using the steps above to complete the server-side deletion.

What Gets Deleted

When a deletion request is completed (via either path above), the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your PIN hash and biometric enrollment flag
  • All raw GPS pings associated with your driver record
  • All Proof of Delivery photos you uploaded
  • All push notification tokens for your device
  • All crash diagnostics and flight-recorder logs tied to your account
  • All device metadata records tied to your account
  • Active authentication sessions (you will be logged out on your device)

What Gets Retained (and Why)

Certain records must be retained for legal, tax, or safety reasons. Where possible, these are de-identified — meaning your name and phone number are removed but the underlying operational record remains. Some categories are controlled by your trucking company, not Halo Dispatch.

Category Retention Period Reason
IFTA fuel and mileage totals (de-identified) 4 years Required by IRS and state tax authorities for interstate trucking compliance
Settlement and pay records (held by your trucking company) Until paid, plus 4 years Required by federal and state labor laws for payroll documentation
Load and shipment history (held by your trucking company) Retained by your trucking company per their policy Your employer owns these records, not Halo Dispatch. Contact them for their retention policy.
SMS tracking delivery logs While the broker's Halo Tracking account is active Record of which tracking texts were sent for the broker's loads, used for billing and dispute resolution
Audit log of your deletion request 2 years Proof that we honored your deletion request, required for compliance audits

After Deletion

  • You will be logged out of the Halo Dispatch Driver app on all your devices
  • Push notifications and SMS messages will stop (SMS will stop immediately; push within 24 hours)
  • If you return to the same or a different trucking company that uses Halo Dispatch, your dispatcher can re-enroll you as a new driver
  • De-identified IFTA totals and load history remain with your trucking company as described above
